Center for the Development of Strategies for the Management of Chemical and Technological Processes “KPI-Honeywell”

The distributed Experion PKS management system by Honeywell allows increasing the level of training of technologists and automation specialists by using Honeywell’s C200 controller and special software that is used by many modern enterprises.

The learning system consists of the following main parts: Honeywell’s reserved and unreserved H200 controllers; the server with Windows Server 2000 operating system and Experion PKS software and ten workstations.

Microprocessor controllers are widely used in modern production. They are compact, represent a complete autonomous apparatus and can implement almost any law of regulation.

The application software allows create various process control algorithms, develop a user interface, store information about the process of regulation in the database, reflect the trends of process variables, and much more.

Ukrainian-Norvegian E-learning Center

The opening ceremony of the Ukrainian-Norvegian e-learning center took place on April 24 at the Faculty of Chemical Technology of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.

Equipped with eight workplaces, a large screen and special demonstration equipment for video conferencing, the centre will allow conduction of interactive lectures, workshops, and individual classes with teachers, permanently working in other cities and countries, at the faculty within a specialised environment created on the basis of advanced information and communication technologies, provide access to the information and educational resources of the European universities, conduction of meetings with well-known foreign scientists etc.

The Laboratory of Technological Measurements and Modelling

The Department implemented a new Laboratory of Technological Measurements and Modelling (LTM&M) in 2017. The laboratory is aimed at providing our students with practical experience in element base of measuring devices, automation, and modeling. Here are performed laboratory works in professional training courses, including “Metrology”, “Technological measurements and devices”, “Identification and modeling of technological objects”, “Technical automation equipment”. The laboratory equipment is real industrial designs of sensors, transducers and other devices, both domestic and foreign production.

The laboratory consists of:

  • laboratory stand “Devices and methods of pressure measurement”;
  • laboratory stand “Devices and methods of temperature measurement”;
  • laboratory stand “Devices and methods of flow measurement of liquids”;
  • laboratory stand “Devices and methods of level measurement of liquids”;
  • laboratory stand “Computer integration and registration of industrial sensors signals”.
